North Carolina Medicaid Members, Get Started Here
As a new member, we know you have questions, and we want you to get the most out of your benefits. Here are some tips to help you get started with your new health plan.
Four Easy Steps To Get Your Plan Going
1. Check the Mail for Your ID Card
You should receive your Healthy Blue member ID card in the mail. You’ll use it for doctor visits, prescriptions, and hospital stays. If it’s been more than two weeks since you enrolled and you didn’t receive your card, give us a call at 844-594-5070 (TTY 711).
You may also view your member ID card through the Sydney Health mobile app.
2. Make an Appointment With Your Primary Care Provider (PCP)
Your main doctor is called a primary care provider, or PCP. Your PCP is listed on your member ID card and in your online account. Call Member Services at 844-594-5070 (TTY 711) to make an appointment as soon as you can.
All new Healthy Blue members should visit their PCP within 90 days of joining.
3. Create Your Online Account
To access the secure member area of our website, you’ll need to create your account. This will allow you to:
- Change your Primary Care Provider (PCP)
- Access or print your member ID card
- Send a private message to Member Services
- Manage your prescriptions
Create an account in just minutes. You’ll need your member ID number (shown on your ID card), your birth date, and your ZIP code. If you need help, call us at 844-594-5070 (TTY 711).
4. Learn About Your Benefits
We want you to understand your benefits and receive the best possible care. Learn what you can expect from Healthy Blue on your plan benefits page, including many extras just for being our member. You can also read your member handbook for details about your benefits.
Note: You need to renew your benefits each year. You will receive a notice in the mail when it’s time to renew. If you move, NC Medicaid will need your new address, so you don't miss important alerts about your renewals.
